 Lakshyan Schanzer Psy.D., M.S.Ed., C.H.T.
Dr. Lakshyan Schanzer is director and founder of BodyMind Therapies and The Garden City Yoga Studio. He is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Cranston, Rhode Island. He has been integrating meditative and clinical practice for over 30 years. As a therapist and trainer, he has worked with individuals, families, couples, and professional groups in a variety of clinical and meditative settings. Lakshyan is a senior Hakomi
therapist and teacher. Having begun his training in 1979, he is among the first certified to teach Hakomi.
Lakshyan began teaching yoga in 1971 and has taught almost every conceivable type of location or group. He founded The Yoga Studio, one of the first yoga teaching centers in New England, in 1979 in Worcester, MA. Lakshyan has studied with many yoga masters in the United States and in India. His yoga teaching has been most significantly influenced by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Swami Satchidananda, and B.K.S Iyengar. His teaching style is precise, systematic, compassionate, and inspires you to begin from where you are and go to your limits. Lakshyan has advanced teachers certification with the Yoga Alliance.
